Agriturismo Il Falcone - The Wines

The Falcone is one of the most ancient farms of the Cornia Valley. The farm with the existing farmland is part of the municipality of Suvereto and comprises 100 ha of land in a hilly area. The farm is managed by the owners that are also supervising the whole production processes. The farm produces white and red wines of excellent quality and structure.

 

Boccalupo I.G.T.

Produced of the grape varieties Sangiovese, Giacomino, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vinification is traditional with temperature control. Boccalupo ages for 16 months in medium toasted barrique barrels made of durmast wood and refines then for other 15 months in the bottle. It is a ruby red coloured wine of great structure with an intense, persistent, fruity and spicy fragrance with vanilla scents. The taste is austere, dry and well-structured, long ending and properly tannic.

Vallìn dei Ghiri I.G.T.

Produced of pure syrah grapes; traditional vinification with temperature control. 
The red wine Vallin dei Ghiri ages for 16 months in medium toasted barrique barrels made of durmast wood, followed by a 12 months bottle refining.
The wine has a ruby red colour with an intense red fruit bouquet together with spicy and toasted notes. In the mouth one feels the great volume of the wine with tannic density, persistent and long ending.

Falcorosso D.O.C. Val di Cornia

Produced of the grape varieties Sangiovese, Colorino and Canaiolo. The vinification is traditional with temperature control. Falcorosso matures for 14 months in cement tanks, followed by 5 months bottle refining. The Falcorosso wine is ruby red coloured; the bouquet is intense and fine at the same moment, neat and fruity. The taste is well-balanced, warm and round.

Safeno D.O.C. Val di Corniaalt

Produced of the grape varieties Sangiovese, Colorino and Canaiolo. Traditional vinification with temperature control. Safeno is a young, ruby red coloured wine with an intense and fruity bouquet, which is fine at the same time. The taste is well-balanced, warm and round.

Falcobianco I.G.T.



Produced of the grape varieties Vermentino, Ansonica and Malvasia. The vinification is made through cryomaceration at controlled temperature. The Falcobianco matures for 7 months in stainless steel tanks and finally makes 2 months of bottle refining. It is a white wine of straw yellow colour. The bouquet is intense and fine at the same moment, fragrant and fruity; the taste is warm, sapid and balanced.

Iliaco I.G.T.

Produced of the grape varieties Ansonica, Clairetteand Trebbiano. The vinification takes place through the cryomaceration at controlled temperature. The Iliaco is a young white wine of a straw yellow colour with a floral and fruity bouquet; sapid and fresh.Prodotto da uvaggio ansonica, clairette e trebbiano.
